Inclusive Education Teacher

This is an exciting opportunity for a colleague with a teaching background in Secondary education and an experienced Inclusive Education teacher to join a growing school in the heart of Singapore. They will have the ability to enthuse and inspire students, maximizing achievement and progress at all levels. A teacher with flexibility, resilience, and a caring and kind approach towards students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Create and sustain a positive, inclusive, well-managed and safe learning environment that enables all students to thrive.
· Deliver and support the Inclusive Education curriculum for assigned classes in line with the school timetable and expectations.
· Plan and deliver appropriately differentiated learning experiences that respond to individual student strengths, needs and learning profiles.
· Promote independence, confidence and learner agency through inclusive teaching and learning strategies.
· Contribute to the ongoing development, review and evaluation of the Inclusive Education curriculum across the school.
· Design and deliver subject content, selecting teaching approaches and methodologies that meet diverse learner needs.
· Remain up to date with current research and best practice in Inclusive Education, adapting curriculum content, pedagogy and assessment accordingly.
· Identify, select and utilise appropriate resources to support inclusive practice, within the constraints of the school budget.
· Monitor, assess and evaluate student progress regularly, ensuring feedback and homework align with school policy and support individual learning goals.
· Report to parents in accordance with the school’s reporting policy.
· Use information gained from assessment, recording and reporting procedures to generate further improvement in student achievement.
· When required, take on a form tutor role in the Senior School and fulfill the responsibilities of that position.
· Follow the School’s policies and procedures regarding discipline and behaviour, daily routines, duties, homework, leave of absence and visits.
· Contribute to co-curricular activities that broaden students’ experiences and contribute to the general life of the school.
· Experience in supporting EAL/ESL learners and adapting lessons to meet a range of language needs would be advantageous.
· Liaise with other members of the Inclusive Education Team and specialist subject teachers regarding individual students, to ensure that those needs are understood, planned for and met.
· Develop effective links with the wider community, to extend the study of Inclusive Education and enhance teaching and learning.
