Job Description
Responsible to: Principal, Head of Mandarin in the execution of professional duties and responsibilities
All duty of care responsibilities
All legal responsibilities
Presenting as a professional and committed staff member, in accordance with the handbook of EH teaching staffs rules and regulations
Establishing an effective and responsive classroom environment where children are active participants
Observe children at play on order to plan, implement and evaluate a child centred curriculum for both the indoor and outdoor learning environments
Support the positive development of children’s social competencies
Assisting in morning duty and school duty
Building and maintain positive relationships with families
Formal accountability to parents through written reports and parent consultations
Informal accountability to parents through frequent verbal communication (phone or in person) and at times communication via emails and the communication books
Maintenance of materials, resources, and equipment in classroom
Professional documentation and display of children’s work
Establishment and maintenance of positive classroom relationships where all members of the class are respected and valued
Assist in the smooth planning and operation of school functions such as Sport’s Day, school performances, Graduation celebrations and cultural celebration activities
Work as an active and participatory team member
Attend staff meetings
Engage in active on going professional development
Mandarin teachers are required to teach 4-6 lessons per day consisting of different age groups (3 to 12 years old). The lessons duration differs from 30min to 45min.
Mandarin teachers are required to act as internal cover to Mandarin teaching colleagues that are on medical leave and urgent leave
Mandarin teachers are required to work with assistant teachers to conduct holiday programme.
Qualifications
Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education in Teaching (Chinese language), or Chinese as a foreign language
At least 2 years of relevant working experience in pre-school or childcare setting is required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work well independently as well as within a team
Fluent in Mandarin, with good oral and written English skills;
Strong Chinese literary and writing skills is required
Have passion in education career, with dedication, love and patience for children

•以口头沟通(电访或面谈)、邮件及联络簿等方式与家长建立常态化沟通机制
•维护 教室材料、资源和设备
• 专业地记录和展示学生作品
• 建立和维持积极的课堂关系,使班级所有学生都受到尊重和重视
• 协助学校顺利地规划和开展:运动会、文艺演出、毕业典礼、家长会以及文化庆典等活动
•积极参与团队工作
• 按时参加员工会议
• 积极参与专业技能发展
•每天需要教授4-6节课,包括不同年龄段(3-12岁),每节课程时长从30分钟-45分钟不等
• 代替病假和紧急休假中文老师的日常工作
• 与助理教师一起协助开展假期班课程
资质
• 具备学前教育、中文教育或者对外汉语专业大专及本科以上相关文凭
•至少拥有2年学前及相关教育机构的工作经验
•具备优秀的沟通技能和人际交往能力
• 具有较强的独立工作能力以及团队合作意识
•普通话标准流利,具有较好的英文口语及书面能力
•具有较强的文学功底和中文书面能力
•热爱教育事业,具有奉献精神,热情大方,对学生有爱心和耐心
