The Singapore Math Curriculum lead (Primary Pedagogue) provides pedagogical leadership in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Singapore Mathematics programme for Primary across EtonHouse Group’s International Schools. Working collaboratively with school leaders and teaching teams, the role ensures the consistent delivery of a high-quality mathematics curriculum that reflects the principles of the Singapore Mathematics approach while aligning with the EtonHouse philosophy of inquiry, conceptual understanding, and authentic learning.
The Singapore Math curriculum lead serves as a curriculum specialist, instructional coach, and professional learning leader, building teacher capability and promoting excellence in mathematics teaching and learning across the network of schools.
Job Description
Curriculum Leadership
Lead the development, implementation, review and continuous enhancement of the Singapore Mathematics curriculum for Primary across the Group’s International schools.
Ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment to promote coherent progression of mathematical concepts, skills and dispositions across year levels and campuses.
Develop curriculum frameworks, scope and sequence documents, assessment guidelines and teaching resources that support high-quality mathematics instruction.
Ensure curriculum implementation aligns with EtonHouse educational philosophy and relevant international curriculum frameworks (e.g. IB PYP, Cambridge Primary, where applicable).
Stays updated with the latest developments in Singapore Maths pedagogical advances and aligns them with practices on the ground.
Helps in organising resources and materials related to Singapore Maths for our schools.
Work on the overall Maths curriculum development of the EtonHouse schools.
Instructional Coaching and Teacher Development
Coach and mentor Primary Mathematics teachers through classroom observations, demonstration lessons, co-planning and reflective coaching conversations.
Provide timely, evidence-based feedback that strengthens instructional practice and improves student learning outcomes.
Support school leaders in developing Mathematics teaching teams and building sustainable instructional capacity.
Identify professional learning needs and contribute to individual and team development plans.
Professional Learning
Design, facilitate and evaluate professional development programmes for Mathematics teachers in Singapore and overseas schools.
Lead workshops, induction programmes, network meetings and learning communities that promote best practices in Singapore Mathematics pedagogy.
Develop exemplar teaching materials, assessment practices and classroom resources to support teacher learning.
Quality Assurance and Curriculum Improvement
Monitor the quality and consistency of Mathematics teaching and learning across schools.
Analyse classroom practices, student learning evidence and assessment data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Recommend evidence-informed strategies to strengthen curriculum implementation and student achievement.
Contribute to the development and review of EtonHouse Mathematics policies, curriculum documentation and quality assurance processes.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
Work collaboratively with Principals, Curriculum Coordinators and Pedagogy teams to drive curriculum initiatives.
Foster professional partnerships across schools, encourage collaboration, sharing of effective practices and continuous improvement.
Support cross-disciplinary curriculum integration where appropriate to enhance authentic learning experiences.
Reporting and Administration
Maintain accurate records of school visits, coaching activities and curriculum support provided.
Prepare reports on programme implementation, teacher development progress and recommendations for improvement.
Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting and resource selection for Mathematics curriculum development.
Qualifications:
At least possess Bachelor’s degree in education (Primary) or equivalent.
Postgraduate qualifications in Mathematics Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or Educational Leadership are an advantage.
Professional certification or recognised training in Singapore Mathematics is highly desirable.
Minimum 5 years of successful Primary Mathematics teaching experience.
Experience coaching or mentoring teachers and leading curriculum improvement initiatives.
Experience developing or implementing Singapore Mathematics programmes.
Experience working in an international school environment is highly desirable.
Familiarity with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), Cambridge Primary or other international curricula is an advantage.
Experience supporting multiple schools or leading system-wide curriculum initiatives is preferred.
