Senior Manager, Transformation AI Lead (Finance)
We welcome passionate and dedicated professionals who share our belief in the power of education. Together, we can make a meaningful difference to children and society through education.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Group CFO, the Senior Manager, Transformation AI Lead drives the strategic adoption of AI and the transformation of Finance across the Group. This is a hands-on role: setting the roadmap, redesigning processes and roles, building and testing solutions, and accelerating the scaling of those that work, while equipping the Finance team for the future. The role sits within Finance, with the opportunity to extend its scope to transformation and AI initiatives across the Group.
Finance AI and Transformation Strategy
Define and own the Finance AI and transformation roadmap, aligned with the Group’s strategy.
Assess the AI readiness of Finance processes, data and systems, and prioritise initiatives through business cases based on value, feasibility, cost and risk.
Track benefits realisation, milestones and KPIs, and report progress to the CFO and steering committee.
Share solutions and lessons learned with other functions, supporting the extension of AI adoption beyond Finance as opportunities arise.
Process and Organisation Redesign
Redesign end-to-end Finance processes (record-to-report, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, planning and forecasting) for AI-enabled workflows, with clear ownership, embedded controls and human review points.
Standardise processes and policies across entities to support a faster, more reliable close and consolidation.
Recommend the future Finance operating model and redesign roles around AI-enabled processes, working with HR on training and reskilling team members.
AI Solution Assessment and Delivery
Stay tool-agnostic, maintaining a current view of the market across AI-native finance platforms, AI features in existing systems, generative AI and agent platforms, and custom builds.
Lead structured solution evaluations, including build, buy or partner decisions, vendor selection and proofs of concept, assessing fit, total cost of ownership, security, integration and scalability.
Build and test prototypes, configure AI tools and workflows, and run proofs of concept, rather than relying solely on vendors or consultants.
Lead cross-functional project teams and external vendors to pilot, implement and scale AI solutions, translating Finance needs into clear requirements and holding vendors to agreed scope, timelines and outcomes.
AI Governance and Data
Working with IT, establish guidelines and controls for responsible AI use in Finance, covering accuracy, human review, auditability, data privacy (PDPA) and security.
Partner with IT and data owners to improve data quality and governance so Finance data is ready for AI and automation.
Change Management and Capability Building
Drive adoption through training, communications and feedback loops, and track adoption metrics.
Build a Finance AI community of practice and lead upskilling programmes for the Finance team.
Engage and influence senior leaders and stakeholders, explaining technical concepts in clear business terms.
Qualifications
Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business, or a related discipline; AI and transformation certifications are an advantage.
At least 8 years of relevant experience in finance and business operations, including 3 years leading transformation programmes.
Working knowledge of core finance processes such as month-end close and reporting is an advantage; candidates without this must demonstrate the ability to quickly learn a business domain.
Proven hands-on experience piloting and deploying AI in an organisation, such as generative AI, agentic workflows and intelligent automation, with measurable results.
Hands-on generative AI skills, with a track record of building assistants, agents or automated workflows, and of judging the quality and limits of AI outputs.
Experience leading cross-functional project teams and managing external vendors, bridging business, finance and technology stakeholders including IT and data teams.
Strong communicator and structured problem-solver who is resilient and comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and change.
